Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm within a short time. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. To date, she has been in every 12 season of Shark Tank. As of February 2020 she had signed 53 deals. One of them was a $350,000 investment in Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran is the second of 10 children from a working-class Irish-Catholic family, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and the next during Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, her family depended on free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran claims that her father was a drunken man who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
