Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She is also an actor and producer. She is best known for her leading role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Following the seventh season Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) as well as The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
